While working with communities across the board to bring meaningful economic and social change is something I am incredibly passionate about, I’ve also got a few more passions!
Travel
I travel every chance I get and plan to continue for as long as I can. My favorite thing to do when traveling to a new area is to find what is different to me but natural to those living there. I look for the differences in culture, art, animals, architecture, landscape, and behavior. I find it all to be incredibly interesting, and I love learning about these differences. This photo was taken in northern Norway and I remember being in awe of so many houses having such insane landscape surrounding them.
Animals
Growing up with various animals such as dogs, cats, frogs, and birds, I grew to really enjoy all animals. When at home or traveling, I love to sit and watch animals roam, so getting to see a monkey playing on the beach in Zanzibar was unbelievable. I also had the opportunity to go on a safari while studying in Cape Town. It was incredibe to see the raw beauty of these animals and feel the kind of power they hold in themselves. I hope to always preserve the spaces animals of all kind call home.
Art
Though I have no artistic ability myself, I have always appreciated art for the time, talent, and dedication it takes. My grandmother was an artist, and so I saw that dedication in practice a lot. As I experience new people and places, one of my favorite things is seeing the different styles of art. This is a photo of a mural painted on the side of someone’s house in Vietnam. To me, it is just as incredible as the art put into museums.
